The Docomomo Accra Chapter works towards the documentation and preservation of Modern(ist) Architectural Heritage in Accra, Ghana.
The Docomomo Accra Chapter was established in 2019 following the African Architecture Writing Workshop. Conversations long before the workshop on Modern Heritage in Accra, and experiences during the workshop which “produced researched essays around the architectural remnants of various historical periods in Accra, focusing on current use, reuse (or disuse) as well as contemporary (re)imaginings of buildings and spaces”, led to the official formation of the chapter.
